- Expect a security background check for admission to the Academy grounds
- Prepare for moderate walking, including about 1 hour 40 minutes outdoors on sometimes unpaved, uneven paths
- Leave food behind; it isn't permitted on the tour
- Dress for rain-or-shine conditions and bring water, sunscreen, or an umbrella as needed
- Expect the cemetery route to change or the chapel to close for an official event or unforeseen funeral or ceremony
