Highlights
Spend a hands-on day exploring how zoologists care for mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians at the Downtown Aquarium. This child-only drop-off workshop offers a look at animal-care careers with aquarium staff and access to staff-only areas.

Important details
- For children in grades 1–12; children must attend the date for their grade level
- Adults do not participate; this is a drop-off program
- Closed-toed shoes are required; flip-flops and sandals are not permitted
- Bring a printed, completed liability waiver for check-in
- Check in with the educator and sign your child in before leaving; a listed adult must sign your child out at pickup
- Participants must administer their own medication, including inhalers and epinephrine auto-injectors
- Participants with severe disabilities require an accompanying adult caregiver
- Animal diet preparation involves seafood, peanuts, tree nuts, and seeds
- Stay with the instructor and follow staff guidelines; do not feed animals, tap exhibit windows, or put hands or objects in the water
- No outside food or drinks are allowed in the building
Cancellation Policy
The aquarium may cancel under extreme circumstances; if it does, you'll receive a full refund. Cancel in writing at least 3 weeks before the program for a refund less a 25% fee; later cancellations are nonrefundable. If the 3-participant minimum isn't met one week before, choose rescheduling or a full refund.

FAQs
Yes. The parking lot is directly across from the aquarium, and parking costs $8 per car. You may also use the curb for drop-off and pickup.
No. Participants are not admitted to the classroom before 9am. The aquarium opens to the public at 10am.
