Kailani Tours delivers consistently exceptional Big Island experiences, thanks to guides who clearly love what they do. Grant, Kaweka, Toby, Thea, and Paul all earn enthusiastic praise for their deep knowledge of Hawaiian geology, history, and culture. These aren't just drivers pointing out landmarks—they're passionate storytellers who keep groups engaged even during longer stretches between stops. Several travelers mention how the guides' insights and personality made time fly by, with one visitor noting they learned far more than on a previous tour with another company. The volcano tours are particularly popular, with guides bringing telescopes to view Kilauea's eruptions and going above and beyond (like Kaweka returning to the volcano when lava was actively flowing). Local-born guides add an authentic perspective that resonates with visitors, sharing cultural knowledge and practical recommendations for the rest of their trip. It's worth noting this is a full-day commitment, but the consistent five-star feedback suggests the experience justifies the time investment. Multiple international travelers and repeat visitors call it their best tour ever.
THIA and BRANDY were absolutely amazing today ! They were both so knowledgeable and we learned so much from both of them. We really had the best day ever and experienced a huge variety of different adventures including sampling coffee, exploring lava tubes and volcanic fields, sea turtle watching, and seeing rainbow falls! Best tour guides ever !
