Check-In Meet our on-shore team at Silent World Dive Center! We’ll welcome you, walk you through the day’s tour and amenities (complimentary reef-safe sunscreen included), and assist with sizing and prepping snorkel equipment before boarding the The Siren.
With any extra time at check-in, feel free to browse our gift shop or stroll the sea wall—keep an eye out for manatees visiting the dock!
Once check-in ends, we board The Siren. Our friendly crew will greet you, show you where to stow personal gear and snorkel equipment. Once everyone is seated aboard the Captain will complete the Coast Guard safety briefing and a passenger roll-call before departing the dock. After departure, your deckhand will explain the snorkel gear, how to enter and exit properly, and best snorkeling practices for our protected reef sites.
Site one: The iconic Christ of the Abyss statue at Dry Rocks – glide over the nine-foot bronze sculpture surrounded by lush coral and tropical fish. This reef site is easily the most sought after snorkeling spot in all the Florida Keys!
After 40 minutes of snorkeling, we’ll call everyone back for a second roll-call, then depart for our next location. During the transit, enjoy complimentary water, soft drinks and chips, and reapply reef-safe sunscreen if needed.
Site Two: Benwood Wreck (Historic Habitat) Get ready for adventure at this WWII freighter-turn-reef! The Benwood approximately 360ft long and is an underwater haven to tropical fish like grunts, snapper, hogfish, sea turtles and large schools of fish—this is one of our most thrilling snorkel spots in Key Largo!
After 40 minutes snorkeling the wreck, you’ll return to the boat for roll-call and a snack break as The Siren moves to the final site.
Site Three: Molasses Reef (Living Masterpiece) Dive into the vibrant world of Molasses Reef, a reef system of stunning “spur-and-groove” coral formations that begin in shallow water and extend deeper. You’ll snorkel through natural coral ridges and drop-off zones, frequently spotting sea turtles, rays and vast schools of tropical fish. This reef is among the most biologically diverse in the Upper Keys—protected, impressive and unforgettable.
After 40 minutes here, we’ll call you back aboard and head home. Enjoy the scenic ride back to dock at Silent World Dive Center, where you’ll find showers, shaded picnic tables, air-conditioned restrooms, yard games and the gift shop ready. Ask our land crew for our favorite local food, shopping and activity recommendations before you leave!

Silent World has clearly figured out the formula for making both nervous beginners and experienced divers feel right at home. What really jumps out from recent visitors is how much the crew matters to the experience. People repeatedly mention captains like Aaron, Killian, and Jeff by name, along with dive instructors and deckhands like Will, Julisa, Alex, Ashlyn, and Murphy. These aren't just competent guides checking boxes. They're described as funny, engaging, patient, and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. Several reviewers note the crew's willingness to adapt, whether that meant helping someone with knee issues back into the boat without judgment, varying dive sites for a guest doing multiple trips, or making first-time boat divers feel completely prepared and confident. The operation itself gets consistently high marks for being well-organized and thoughtful about the details. Guests appreciate the clean, shaded boats with dry storage, complimentary reef-safe sunscreen, snacks and drinks, and nice facilities at the dock. The diving and snorkeling sites, particularly the Christ of the Abyss statue, seem to deliver on the promise of exploring John Pennekamp Coral Reef. One minor complaint surfaced about inappropriate jokes and lack of dress code enforcement from other guests, which earned a three-star review, but that's an outlier in an otherwise glowing collection of feedback. The front office staff also gets props for being friendly and handling arrangements professionally, making the whole experience smooth from initial phone call to final dive.
