Know before you go
- Arrive 30 minutes before departure and use Phoenix, Arizona time
- This active tour requires paddling 5 miles round trip and hiking a rocky, sandy hill
- Wear the provided personal flotation device while on the water
- Children under 5 and all children under 50 lbs (13 kg) must bring their own personal flotation device
- A $30 per-vehicle Glen Canyon National Recreation Area entrance fee applies and is not included in the listed price; annual National Park passes are accepted
- Tours may be delayed, modified, or canceled for unsafe weather, and the canyon hike may be omitted during flash flood warnings or when debris blocks access
Cancellation Policy
Cancel at least 48 hours before departure for a refund. No refund for late arrivals or no-shows. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather. For private trips, cancellations more than 2 weeks before booking incur a 10% fee; within 2 weeks, a 50% fee.
FAQs
No kayaking experience is needed. Your guide will teach you the basics before you paddle Lake Powell.
Wear quick-dry, sun-protective clothing that can get wet, plus sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Choose sport sandals, water shoes, or lightweight sneakers; your feet will get wet. Add layers in cooler months.
Double sit-inside kayaks are provided. Your group will not be mixed with other groups in a double kayak; solo travelers and odd-numbered groups use a single kayak as needed.
