4-Hour Mad River Tubing Float in Urbana

Ride an inner tube down the clear, spring-fed Mad River and let the current set the pace. Take in shaded river scenery on a relaxed float with no paddling needed.

Itinerary

1. Check in at Birch Bark Canoe Livery about 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
2. Sign waivers, complete any final payments (or do both online ahead of time).
3. Load onto the shuttle to Lippincott Road launch.
4. Start your float! Relax and drift with the steady river current.
5. About 30 minutes in, float over the small 8-inch "Tractor Crossing" waterfall.
6. Pass under an old township bridge and the Route 296 bridge (halfway marker).
7. Look for the Birch Bark sign on the right side — turn in and end your float.
8. Return your tube and life jacket — you're back where you parked!
