The Arch of Cabo San Lucas, called El Arco de Cabo San Lucas in Spanish, is a natural granite formation sculpted over millennia by wind, wave, and salt spray at the southernmost point of the Baja California peninsula. Geologists place its origins in volcanic activity tens of millions of years ago, and the slow work of the Pacific has carved its distinctive opening, which frames the horizon like a window between two seas.

Because the arch sits at the junction of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, the waters around it are some of the most biologically rich in Mexico. Boat tours circle the formation and pause at Pelican Rock, where California sea lions rest in noisy, photogenic clusters. Snorkeling near the base reveals parrotfish, rays, and the occasional sea turtle drifting through clear water. For a broader look at the coastline, boat tours depart regularly from Medano Beach and pass sea caves and cliffs along the way.

Just around the headland lies Lovers Beach, a crescent of pale sand accessible only by water and one of the most tranquil spots near the busy marina.
